PR45D03 is a semi-dwarf variety. Semi Dwarf types are relatively short and tend to branch close to the ground, making them more suited to direct-cutting than swathing. The advantage of the short, stiff canopy tends to be more apparent on more fertile soils. Good weed control is particularly important because there is a tendency for less effective weed suppression by the crop.
