Variety notes - Winter wheat
« Back
  • Nijinsky is soft-milling nabim Group 3 wheat.

  • nabim reports that it meets the criteria for biscuit performance.

  •  Classified as uks soft wheat but a low W means it is only suitable for blending into uks cargoes.

  • Rated moderate for distilling.

  • Low specific weight. A slow developing variety it is useful for early drilling and gives its best in this slot.

  • Stiff straw when treated with PGR.

  • Good resistance to yellow rust and Fusarium ear blight but rather susceptible to brown rust.

  • Susceptible to sprouting in the ear during a wet harvest.

  • No longer grown in RL trials.
