Robigus

Variety notes - Winter wheat
« Back

  • Robigus is a soft-milling nabim Group 3 wheat.

  • nabim reports that it is widely used by the milling industry as it meets the criteria for biscuit performance.

  •  Classified as uks soft wheat. Meets the specifications of the export brand and has support from end-users.

  • Rated as "moderate" for distilling.

  • Good resistance to Septoria tritici: one of only three varieties on the Recommended List to have a rating of 7. Robigus had good resistance to brown rust but it is now moderately susceptible to a race of the disease that has become widespread and that also appears to attack Oakley.

  • A race of mildew which can infect Robigus has been found but it is still moderately resistant.

  • It is very susceptible to yellow rust.

  • Resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.

  • It has given high yields in RL trials when sown as a first wheat but it performs less well as a second wheat.

  • Relatively high yielding when late sown.

  • Breeder/ UK Agent: KWS UK Ltd (www.kws.de/ca/fh/tgy/uk ).
